San Choy Bow

You will need:

  • 500g chicken mince
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 handful shallots
  • 1 carrot
  • Vermicelli noodles
  • Tamari or soy sauce – start with 1/3 cup & add more if you need
  • Chilli 
  • Lettuce leaves 
  • Sesame seeds 


  1. Place vermicelli noodles in boiling water to start cooking 
  2. Cook chicken mince on the pan in some sesame oil 
  3. While mince is cooking, grate carrot, pull out lettuce cups & wash 
  4. Drain vermicelli noodles 
  5. Once mince is cooked, add shallots, carrot & noodles, mix to combine
  6. Add tamari/soy sauce & chilli 
  7. Serve warm mince mixture in lettuce cups & top with sesame seeds
